The Children’s University

Sleaford District is pleased be recognised as a Virtual School for the Lincolnshire Children's University, boasting a number of Learning Destinations. Being part of the Childrens University is a fantastic way to recognise the value of learning outside of the classroom.

The Children’s University aims to provide children with a wide variety of learning experiences that they might not otherwise experience; encouraging them to foster a life-long love of learning.  We aim to raise aspirations by broadening children’s horizons while boosting their confidence and sense of achievement.

Children are issued with a Passport to Learning and can either earn stamps from their school by attending a lunch club or after school club or from a Learning Destination such as Lincoln Castle or The Collection.  The Children’s University is a national charity so you can also visit Learning Destinations in other cities and towns.

Once the children have completed 30 stamps (eg. 30 hours) of extra-curricular learning, they will be invited to attend a Children’s University Graduation Ceremony at the University of Lincoln, where they can celebrate their achievements and receive a certificate, whilst wearing a mortar board and gown!

Download the App on the App Store for Android and Apple or visit the Children’s University Website to find out about the latest activities.
