Golden Scouter

Congratulations to Adam Nugent on being awarded his Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award. 

As part of our St George's Day Celebrations local Scouter Adam Nugent was rewarded for his hard work having completed his DofE Gold Award. 

After completing his Bronze and Silver awards Adam set his sights on achieving Gold, completing the five mandatory sections of the award over a 18 month period. In completing his award Adam participated in a variety of activities including volunteering at his local Beaver Scout Colony, improving his badminton skills and learning to play the guitar. Adam also took part in two expeditions exploring the Yorkshire Dales and Moors as well as a five day residential with the Lincoln Archeological Field School. 

"Adam's award is well deserved" explains Adam Jacklin, District Explorer Scout Commissioner, "he has worked hard showing a real commitment to personal development and community service - it has been a pleasure to support Adam in completing his award."

Adam will join other Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award recipients at Buckingham Palace this summer - we look forward to hearing about this very special expereince.
